You may recognize teen actor Ryan Ochoa from his role, Lanny, on Disney XD’s Pair of Kings. However, Ryan’s acting career is full of impressive projects, from a recurring role on Nickelodeon’s iCarly, to guest starring on Disney XD’s Zeke and Luther, to a role in the feature film The Samuel Project, which is due to be released this year.

Ryan is more than just an actor – he’s a member of the music group OCHOA BOYZ along with his brothers Rick, Robert, and Raymond.
Everly Mag talked to Ryan all about acting, music, and what’s next for his career.
Everly Mag: Tell us about how you got your start in the acting business. What was your first major project?
Ryan: I started in the business when I was 5 years old. I did some modeling jobs in San Diego, and when I was 7 [years old], we moved up toward LA where I got my first agency. I actually booked my first audition, which was a commercial for Greyhound. After that, I just kept auditioning for different stuff, booked some short films, some indie films, and I finally [booked] the baseball movie, The Perfect Game.
It was that movie that got me good recognition as an actor on the big screen, and then I ended up getting A Christmas Carol with Jim Carrey, directed by the visionary Robert Zemeckis.
I’ve always been an entertainer. I love making people laugh, and I felt [acting] always was my calling.
Everly Mag: What are your Top 3 acting projects so far and why?
Ryan: That’s very tough because, fortunately for me, 99 percent of the projects that I’ve been part of have been with good [and] talented people, and great stories! I don’t think I can narrow it down to 3 – maybe 5. I would have to say The Perfect Game, A Christmas Carol, iCarly, Pair of Kings, and my upcoming film The Samuel Project.

Obviously there’s many reasons for [choosing] each one, but to keep it simple, I would say that for each [project] I got to show a different side of my acting abilities. Whether it was portraying characters with accents, crying on camera, playing sports, being evil and funny, and [helping to] lead an entire movie.
Everly Mag: Tell us about your time acting on Disney XD’s Pair of Kings. What’s a typical day like on set?
Ryan: I played the evil cousin Lanny. The chemistry between the actors on-camera and off-camera was so strong, and it was because every single day on set was like a family working together. There were daily jokes, pranks, lunches together, and it was the best 3 seasons.
Everly Mag: Who inspires your acting career?
Ryan: Easy. Leonardo DiCaprio, Dwayne Johnson, Johnny Depp, and Tom Hanks! I have heard nothing but great things about them all.
Everly Mag: How do you describe your personality?
Ryan: I’m fun, talkative, and definitely outgoing. I love to have a good time and bring smiles to the room.

Everly Mag: What do you like to do when you’re not acting or when you’re hanging out with your friends?
Ryan: When I’m not acting, I work out A LOT. I edit content, make music with my brothers, and spend time with my family. My friends and I are simple. We don’t need to be doing anything crazy to have fun, but if we do, we love to create, go on adventures, and watch movies to keep up with the business.
Everly Mag: Tell us about working with your brothers on OCHOA BOYZ. What’s it like making music together?
Ryan: OCHOA BOYZ!! The other half of my career. I couldn’t be more happy, more blessed, and look forward to any [other] time than when we get to be in the studio and onstage together. The energy is so high when we are together.
Everly Mag: Looking to the future, what are your career goals?
Ryan: My ultimate goal right now is to write, direct, and edit my own movie. Not saying it won’t happen soon – you never know – but as I continue to reach for that goal, I just want to make sure I am striving to improve and get better in my work and as a person every day.

I really want to work with Dwayne Johnson and Leonardo DiCaprio – they are at the top of the list. I do want to start making more movies. Last year, I shot 3 movies so I’m making progress. My brothers and I are currently working on a new album right now, [with] a few songs to finish until it’s done.
Everly Mag: What can fans expect to see from you in the upcoming months?
Ryan: My new film, The Samuel Project, comes out later this year nationwide. [Plus], new music videos from the OCHOA BOYZ, lots of fun new content and definitely lots of positive inspiration.
Everly Mag: What else do you want your fans to know?
Ryan: I know I say it all the time, but thank you to everyone for supporting my journey and being the best. Ochoanizers are strong and we appreciate all the love you spread daily. DREAM WISH BELIEVE!
