Everly Mag interviewed Stephanie about social media, who inspires her, what it means to be an influencer, and more!
Everly Mag: Describe your personality in 5 words.
Stephanie: Sweet, funny, outgoing, bubbly, tough.
Everly Mag: When and why did you start using social media? What social networks do you use?
Stephanie: I first started using social media when I was 11. My sister got me an account that was for modeling use only, and my mom controlled it until I was 12. [Then] I got my own account and created a separate one for friends.
I use Snapchat and Instagram. I never used Twitter, but I may try it one day.
Everly Mag: What’s your favorite social network or app and why?
Stephanie: My favorite app is probably Instagram. You can see more on there than you can see on Snapchat.
Everly Mag: What’s your favorite and least favorite thing about social media?
Stephanie: My favorite thing about social media is [that] you get to personalize your own page and have close friends follow you. My least favorite thing about social media is the negativity that people give off.
Everly Mag: How can teens make social media a better place?
Stephanie: Teens can make social media a better place by spreading more positivity and kindness rather than saying something rude to someone. Since kids have public accounts, anyone can come on their page and comment whatever they want. If you see something [negative], you can say something like, “If you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all.”
Everly Mag: What are 3 goals you have for your future?
Stephanie: Marketing business, police academy, and go to the Cheer Worlds competition.
Everly Mag: What’s one piece of advice you have for teens who want to spread positivity on social media?
Stephanie: Just keep doing what you’re doing. If someone knocks you down, you simply get back up. Ask them: Did I ask for your opinion? For your comment? You never did, so just move on and always take the higher ground.
Everly Mag: Share one quote that inspires you.
Stephanie: “The world is my runway.” I [am] always told that quote when I go to castings or auditions. My parents always tell me that the world is mine and I can conquer anything.
Everly Mag: Who are your top 3 role models?
Stephanie: My mom, who has been there for me since day one; Gigi Hadid, who I hope to meet one day because she’s amazing and is such an amazing model; and lastly, my agent [who] does everything for me.
Everly Mag: What does it mean to you to be an influencer?
Stephanie: To be an influencer means to be someone who changes the world. You expect a lot from influencers because they’re considered “kids on a mission.” They have a plan and want to make a difference to change the world.
Everly Mag: How could you change the world as an influencer?
Stephanie: It [is] simple, just be nice! That’s all it takes.
Everly Mag: Lastly, tell us one thing about you that might surprise our readers.
Stephanie: One fun fact about me is that I’ve been in an American Girl doll magazine in 2015, and I’ve been in New York Fashion Week.
