Pink Heart Talks Singing, Inspiration, and More!

Pink Heart is a talented, energetic, and super-positive girl group whose star is ready to shine.

Everly Mag talked to Pink Heart’s three incredible members – Anaya, Gabby, and Madox – all about singing, goals, advice, and more!

Everly Mag: What inspired you to start singing?  How did you know you had a passion for singing?

Anaya: I’ve always loved music probably beginning at the age of 3. Music has always been in my heart, especially being around it. I remember watching my older sister Ciara just sing around the house. She would train at Godmother’s performing arts school (AGI Entertainment). Watching her and nurturing the gift that was already in store in me grew to something much bigger.

When I was 11 my Nana and I flew to Georgia, so I could attend the AGI bootcamp for the summer, and, by the time summer was over, I just knew that this was my calling and that I needed to stay in Georgia. As crazy as it sounds for an 11 year old to say that I would sacrifice leaving half of my family for an indefinite period of time, I have a passion and am fortunate to have support from those around me.

Gabby: I look up to singers like Beyoncé and Whitney Houston who have inspired me and made me want to work on perfecting my craft. I have always loved and enjoyed singing. My passion as a musician continues to grow daily.

Madox: I remember being a little girl setting up my Barbie dolls and teddy bears like they were my audience and performing for them on the ledge of my fireplace. I discovered my passion for singing when I stated attending AGI Summer Camp at age 8.

Everly Mag: Who inspires you in your music?  Who are your favorite artists and role models in music?

Anaya: Ariana Grande, Mariah Carey, Brandy, Chrisette Michelle, Jennifer Hudson, Carrie Underwood, etc.

Gabby: I love Alessia Cara. She is a role model because she inspires young females to love yourself and she reminds her fans that it doesn’t matter what other people think.  Zendaya also shows me how to live fearlessly with grace and beauty.

Madox: Lauryn Hill – because she raps & sings and talks. Performance wise: Beyonce – I admire her work ethic.

Everly Mag: How did Pink Heart get started?  What are your early memories of working together on your first few projects?

Anaya: Our Vocal Producer / Creative Director Brandin Jay created the group. He had a vision and so much more and put together a group of young, empowering teens that have become a huge inspiration for kids/teens all around the world.

I remember being very excited, and ready to stay on my grind. After the first project/ music video with my group members, I felt excited to share love throughout everything that we do.

Gabby: I was nine and not really familiar with artist development so it was something new for me. We always have a great time and our trainers push us hard to be great.  One memory that sticks out to me was our first photo shoot. It made us really feel like stars (even though no one knew about us) and we got a chance to meet Janelle Monae.

Madox: Brandin Jay had the idea to put together a young, pop, urban girl group. He held auditions and made selections from there. I remember a lot of sweat and working out to build our stamina and strengthen our vocal cords.

Anaya: Hilarious, sweet, sour, quirky, creative!

Gabby: 1. Sassy 2. Goofy 3. Fierce 4. Crazy 5. Intelligent.  Our individual talents and personalities enhance the group by making us relatable to different people.

Everly Mag: What has been your favorite project so far and why?

Anaya: My favorite project so far has been our new song & music video, “I’ll Fight For You.” It shows what kids of our generation are really going through and is so special because it’s the three of us, the girl group Hello Sunday, the actors in our video and our team, crying out “we’ll fight for you!” and you CAN fight for yourself!

Gabby: I loved working on our first EP “Fruit Snacks And Bangers” because it allowed me to improve my singing.

Madox: Filming the “I’ll Fight For You Video” because of the message in the song and the positive impact we hope it will have.

Everly Mag: What’s coming up next for you this year?

Anaya: Our new EP will drop this summer. We also have a few shows and performances. We are working on new material which we are so excited about!!!!

Gabby: We hope to release our TV show FANdamonium and to do more performances and possibly a tour.

Madox: Our New EP will drop this summer…we have a few shows/ performances and the overall goal is to become a household name.

Everly Mag: What are your goals for the future of your career?

Anaya: To definitely stay grounded in who I am as an artist, to stay humble, and to become a household name that lets people know that it’s okay to be the light in a dark world.

Gabby: When I grow up I definitely want to be a model and travel around the world. I also really love interior decorating which I hope to do one day as well.

Madox: To go on tour with a major artist, become a household name, and to help spread positivity & hope for self-love to all…

Everly Mag: What’s one piece of advice you can give to aspiring singers and music artists?

Anaya: Be creative! Do things that require you to step out of your comfort zone, the more you practice the better.

Gabby: The piece of advice I give to other artists is never give up, believe in yourself and know that you can do it and communicate with people if you’re struggling with something. Give it your all to make yourself better and don’t dim your light.

Madox: Stay focused on your goal, work hard & remain humble.

Everly Mag: What are your interests outside of singing? What do you like to do in your free time?

Anaya: Sketching, drawing, acting, writing (poems & songs). I also love animals, so at any time I can, I love going to the pet store to hold dogs and other animals! Mostly dogs though because I love them!

Gabby: When I’m not singing I love to hang out with friends and family, go places and spend quality time with them.  I really love going to the trampoline park and shopping.

Madox: Acting, writing songs and poems, doing make up for myself and others & modeling. I like to go skating with my friends.

Everly Mag: Is there anything else you would like us to know?
